Christian Teens Ministry London
London Church of Christ teen ministry supports our young people in their walk with God, providing them with the platform to cultivate their own deeply personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Too often the bridge between childhood and adulthood is overlooked by churches, with young people expected to move directly from Sunday school to adult-focused services and adult-only bible studies.
This can lead to a loss of faith and sees many young people abandon their faith at this age. We can’t let this happen, and our teens ministry inspires young adults to meet with others their own age, seek their own faith, and find their own journey with God without blindly following the words of their peers.
All our teen ministry meetings and events are focussed on growing closer to God whilst socialising with other Godly teens, with a variety of organised events ranging from monthly devotionals to fun events and team building opportunities, and personal Bible study.
What is Teen ministry?
Teen ministry at London Church helps young people live as an example of Jesus and focus on him unhindered by age, in the essence of 1 Timothy 4.12.
Through the Bible, teens can learn about God’s will, Jesus’ life on earth, and the lessons that they can apply to their own lives as a Christians. We will help to point them in the right direction and support them as they make their own discoveries and conclusions.
Any individual involved in youth work at London church has up to date PVG checks and many have extensive experience as youth workers.
They will help to support teens in their Bible studies no matter what stage they are at on their spiritual journey. We have teens at our Sunday services who have been with us since birth, but many attendees are stepping into the wonderful world of Christianity for the very first time.
Friends Across the UK
Every year, the teenagers from our London Church teen ministries participate in a summer camp alongside other churches in the UK.
During a week filled with team games, outdoor activities, bible studies, singing, dancing, chatting and much more besides, the group gets the chance to expand their horizons and meet new friends from godly communities across the UK.
Over the years, many teens have built God-focused friendships lasting well into adulthood by coming together to pray, play games, and talk, providing young people with the chance to grow and become independent whilst strengthening their relationship with God.
Teenagers in the Bible
The Bible gives us many examples of teenagers who were incredibly influential and inspiring, particularly in the old testament, setting an example for the youth leaders of today.
- Esther (Esther 7.3-7) saved the entire Jewish community in Persia by confronting the King and revealing the corruption of his right hand man.
- David (1 Samuel 16.12-13, 1 Samuel 17.49-50) defeated the strongest member of the Philistine army whilst still young, using his faith in the Lord, saving the whole of Israel.
- Ruth (Ruth 1.16-18) is thought to have still been a teenager when she left everything she knew to follow God after meeting her mother-in-law Naomi. Her story now not only has its own book in the Bible, she is also mentioned in the bloodline of Jesus.
- Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel 1.18-120) followed God despite being mocked by their peers and refused to turn their backs on Him even when faced with a possibly gruesome end.
We aren’t expecting any of these situations to crop up during our next generation church ministry! But, they do show how much God values young people who follow the Christian faith and will reward all those who seek Him and live their lives through Him.
